Saint Lucia Jazz Festival 2019 Lineup Announced
Already one of the Caribbean’s most hotly anticipated live music experiences, the 2019 Saint Lucia Jazz Festival will, for the first time, be produced in collaboration with Jazz at Lincoln Center. The event will feature the finest names in modern jazz, performing in intimate venues and public settings along the length and breadth of Saint Lucia’s breathtaking landscape, launching on Saturday May 4th at Anse La Raye, just north of Ti Kaye Resort & Spa, before heading south to Laborie, then returning north and culminating with a weekend-long musical extravaganza, with shows at The Ramp on Rodney Bay, Gros Islet Park, and IGY Rodney Bay Marina.
For this inaugural year of collaboration, Jazz at Lincoln Center has programmed a stellar lineup. Christian McBride, Ledisi, Etienne Charles, Russell Hall, and Patrick Bartley will serve as artists-in-residence in Saint Lucia throughout the festival. Artists Gregory Porter, Dianne Reeves, Catherine Russell, Somi, The Baylor Project, Veronica Swift, members of the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra, and a host of musicians and collaborators from Saint Lucia and the wider Caribbean will perform throughout the week. In addition to world-class performances, the 2019 Saint Lucia Jazz Festival will also feature “Artists In Education” initiatives, including master classes, professional development workshops, as well as performance collaborations with local jazz artists and students from the Saint Lucia School of Music students.
